Rod Finlayson and Burke Jones saw a need in the industrial material handling storage market for a company that could offer a long-term approach, superb customer service, and creative solutions that would provide customers' with flexibility in the future. In 1988, they founded ISS.
Soon after the founding of ISS, Albertson's grocery chain contracted with the company to develop its store racking and offer customer support for major projects across the country. Since then, the company has grown, developing increasingly complex and effective solutions each year:
- 1992-ISS designed pick modules for 900,000 square foot facilities and completing major re-models for grocery distribution centers.
- 1993-ISS installed eleven pick modules designed for both full-case and split-case picking, and was active in the design of over 8 miles of conveyors.
- 1995-The company's innovation continued in the mid-nineties, when ISS developed and installed a new type of full-case pick module and conveyor designed for slow-moving items in a grocery application.
- 1999, the company grew to be involved in complex pick module projects totaling 2.3 million square feet of buildings.
As president and CEO, Rod Finlayson has taken action to enhance the company's offering even further. Finlayson has added key personnel-experienced professionals who are the best in the business. Moving forward, Finlayson's goal is to keep service at the center of the business, while keeping ISS on the leading edge of equipment technology for the customer. |
